Project Size: 10,000 square feet

In possession of a lakefront property a few hours outside of Montreal, the client was looking to construct a generational home that would also be suitable for entertaining guests. The house develops its own expressive structural vocabulary that merges Victorian Shingle, Tudor and Craftsman styles. A timber frame features prominently throughout as both a structural and decorative element, delineating rooms within and establishing a strong presence on the facade. Modern flourishes such as generous skylights bathe living spaces in natural light. The home is aligned to take in the lake and a small island at its centre. Sliding doors running adjacent to the living room, master bedroom, and dining rooms mediate views to the lake and permit easy access to a large terrace to the north. This terrace then steps down to establish a direction connection with the shoreline.
