The client’s property is situated on a steep site overlooking Howe Sound in West Vancouver. Brad Lamoureux Architect was asked to develop a modern family home that would take advantage of the views and the changes in grade. The design of the home centers around a tripartite, low profile gabled roof, which defines zones of occupation for the interior and provides generous overhangs to suit the west coast climate. Floor to ceiling fenestration on the south elevation break down the division between interior and exterior and assures an easy transition between the main living level towards the pool terraces. A centrally located skylight draws light deep within the home and down to the lower level.
